Justin Carter Walton, known professionally as Jwalt, is a 19-year-old Rapper, Songwriter, Poet,

and published Author from Oakland California. Jwalt is a signed artist under Create Music Group.

 

Jwalt's new EP, "2.2.2.", is a sonically and lyrically engaging project that highlights his success,

journey, and struggles, as the Oakland bred artist takes on a new chapter of his life in New York

City. The new EP’s title signifies Jwalt bi-coastal lifestyle and entering his sophomore year at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recording in the Tish School.

 

Jwalt began writing poetry at 8-years-old, later finding his passion for hip-hop when he was 11

years old. At 15, Jwalt made his national debut on Sway in the Mornings "Doomsday Cypher",

becoming the youngest MC invited to the legendary cypher on Sirius XM.

 

Since then, Jwalt has shared stages with world renowned artists such as Nas, Wu-Tang, Dave

East, Common, G-Eazy, E-40, Too short, Saweetie, Black Thought, T-pain, Talib Kweli, Jerimih,

Metro Boomin, Kamaiyah, Sheila E and Daveed Diggs. Jwalt’s young career has been nothing

short of extraordinary. In 2019, Jwalt’s hit song “The Kid” was picked up by ESPN, along with

his first single of 2021 “The Taking”. Both tracks were featured on NBA Countdown, appearing

on worldwide television.

People.com magazine and SF Gate has recognized Jwalt as Oakland’s next hip-hop star. Jwalt

was featured in the 2020 “Graduate Together”, hosted by 44th President Barak Obama and NBA

icon LeBron James. Jwalt’s music reflects his Oakland roots. He has done collaborations with

bay legends such as Dj Touré from the Hieroglyphics and one of the pioneers of the hyphy

movement Mistah F.A.B. In 2019, Jwalt was a featured performer at the Fox Theater in Oakland

CA, celebrating Stephen Curry’s 10th year in Oakland.

Jwalt’s bars went viral when he rocked the mic on Sway in the Morning’s Friday Cypher, rated

top-3 of 2020 and when he was featured on the “Best of Thizzler Cypher” 2018.
